Meet your Property Manager – Jacksonville, FL

Steven Ritter


Steven has personally owned and managed residential properties for over 20 years. He and Paula Walsh, a Playa partner, developed Playa Realty & Management LLC in 2007. Prior to entering real estate, Steven managed a career with a Fortune 500 company in Denver, Colorado. His accountabilities included marketing, operations and sales. Steven and his wife Sally moved from Denver to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1999 for an opportunity to run, market, and sell a malt beverage distributor. That was accomplished and was followed by a two and a half year assignment with a major pharmaceutical company in Puerto Rico. The weekly commute for this assignment from Ponte Vedra Beach was extensive and, when it was over, Steven decided to limit his travel and follow his passion for real estate by starting up Playa Realty & Management LLC. Steven earned his degree in economics from City University of New York

Paula Walsh

Paula moved from New Jersey to Jacksonville in 1989. Her first employment in Jacksonville was as a Manager with a major transportation company. In 1995 she obtained her Real Estate Salesperson license and created a Property Management department for Century 21 American Realty & Associates. In 1997 she obtained her Brokers license and at that time she moved to Century 21 Harris Real Estate Property Management. In 2008 Paula helped develop Playa Realty & Management LLC. She is a Broker Associate/Partner with this firm. Paula loves the Jacksonville area. She finds the climate wonderful and the people friendly. Paula says, “there is an abundance of things to do, I love the theater enjoy concerts, and of course am an avid football fan.” Paula takes full advantage of the waterways by boating, skiing and fishing. She thoroughly enjoys our beautiful beaches and the diversity of the restaurants in Jacksonville, but pizza is her favorite.

Terry Thompson

terrySystems/Financial Director

Terry is a semi-retired Accountant with considerable experience in accounting, finance, credit and real estate. While owning and managing his own portfolio of rental properties in the 1980’s, he passed the Oklahoma Real Estate Licensing Course to improve his knowledge of the real estate market. Terry left the corporate world in 1989 after spending the major portion of his career as a Controller for a large national oil and gas well service company. He then owned and managed a mid-sized courier service before moving to Jacksonville in 1999, where he later started a debt management company. He joined Playa in December 2009, performing part-time administrative duties, gradually transitioning to full-time as Playa’s Systems and Financial Director.

Debbie Ruggiero

Sales Associate

Born and raised in the great city of Jacksonville, Debbie grew up in the Southside area. Her prior work experience includes Executive Administration and Human Resources in the banking and mortgage industry. Debbie enjoys reading, spending time with her son and playing with her Lhasa Apso. She loves the outdoors and can be found often in the sun, at the pool or beach. She loves life and believes we should do our best for others.

Bridget Tete

Admin/Sales Assistant

Bridget Tete comes to Playa Management with 20 years teaching experience and 10 years as a business owner. Growing up in New Jersey, Bridget has taught internationally and then relocated to Jacksonville. In 2006, she founded Artoga, a program that teaches children and families methods for enhancing wellness of body and mind through Art, Theater and Yoga. She completed coursework in real estate in Pennsylvania and is excited about her new career path with Playa. Bridget has been helping empower families through education and now wants direct that determination toward helping support our effort with owners and tenants. She lives in Riverside with hubby and son, who are her foundation of inspiration, laughter and love.

Ken Vick

kenBroker Associate

Ken was born in California and grew up in Laguna Beach. He studied accounting at Saddleback College. In 1984, he moved to Washington D.C. metro to pursue a career in property management and real estate sales. In 1993, Ken developed and opened his own full-service real estate company focused on the management of residential and commercial properties. While in the D.C. area Ken received many awards and professional recognition for outstanding sales and rental accomplishments. In 2009 Ken sold his company so he could move to Jacksonville for the warmer weather. Ken joined Playa in April of 2010.

Kayla Jones


Kayla is originally from Gwinnett, Georgia but moved to St. Augustine, Florida in 1995. As a local of St. Augustine she enjoys the beach, town festivals and all the varieties of cuisine the town offers. She likes to crochet, read, cook and spend time in the company of her family. Kayla has administrative experience in property management and customer service. She thoroughly enjoys every aspect of property management. She strives to learn something new everyday and to also bring a smile to everyone she meets.

Marcia Kerns

Maintenance Manager/Sales Associate

Marcia moved from West Virginia to St. Johns County twenty years ago. She was a field executive for the Girl Scouts and a white water canoe instructor before she made a career shift and began working as a property manager in Florida. Her experience is vast – she’s worked in both short-term and long-term residential leases. Marcia believes that customer service is paramount and she brings a positive attitude in all that she does. Marcia spends her spare time cooking, quilting, and riding Segways with her husband. She is a Basset Hound enthusiast and she is actively involved with Basset Hound Rescue. She has three children and six grandchildren who live around the nation.

Randy Braddy

Sales Associate

Randy is originally from Macon, Georgia but has lived in Florida since 1983. Residing in Fleming Island with wife, Lynn, and son, Colton, the family enjoys the unique offerings of a north Florida lifestyle. Thirty years of banking, real estate, and mortgage experience combined with personal real estate rental and management give Randy excellent credentials to insure property owners and tenants unparalleled service. Randy feels that property management fulfills a desire to assist owners and tenants alike. Meeting ownership objectives and simultaneously arranging a great “Home” experience for the tenant is a truly rewarding enterprise.

Roberta Ritter

AP Manager

Roberta Ritter recently retired from her full-time position as an Assistant Temple Administrator and continues working for Playa Realty & Management, taking advantage of the convenience of email and the internet. She grew up in Queens, NY; lived in New Jersey and Connecticut and has now completed the tri-state circle by moving to Brewster, NY. Roberta has a daughter who lives in Poughquag, NY, with her husband and two children ages 10 and 2, and a son who lives in Danbury, CT. Roberta enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and exploring the wonders of the computer. She looks forward to relocating to the Jacksonville area when the grand kids are a bit older.

Sally Lopez-Ritter

Sales Associate

Sally is a hybrid marketing and communications specialist who has progressive leadership experience with two Fortune 500 companies; the Coors Brewing Company and The Coca-Cola Company. Her accountabilities included marketing, portfolio management and customer service. Following a successful corporate career, Sally decided to retire, became a licensed realtor and now has joined her husband Steve in a Management capacity with Playa. “I look forward to helping our clients achieve their goals.” Sally earned her MBA degree from the University of Colorado.

Tamara Villamil

Sales Associate

Tamara was born and raised in Jacksonville. She owned and managed investment properties for eight years before transitioning into corporate America as a Quality Assurance Coordinator. She loves the opportunity to help others achieve their dreams. Tamara’s background includes cosmetology, sales and management. Her passions are traveling and all aspects of real estate. She loves camping, kayaking and all fun in the sun activities with her husband and kids.

Tasha Carroll


Sales Associate

Tasha was born and raised a Floridian. She worked in the Human Resources field for ten years prior to working with Playa Realty & Management. Tasha has been a Realtor/Property Manager with Playa Realty & Management for the last eight years. She very much enjoys spending time with her husband, Frank, raising their two boys. Tasha says, “Jacksonville is a wonderful place to raise a family, there is an abundance of outdoor activities including terrific local parks.” Tasha enjoys all types of water recreation and especially likes the beauty and fun of the local beaches.

S.J. Rivera

Marketing Manager/ Sales Associate

Originally from Denver, Colorado, S.J. oversees the marketing operations for Playa Management, which include data management, website maintenance, communications, technical support and training, digital photograph editing, virtual tour creation, and social media presence. He is also a licensed realtor and a property manager. He enjoys spending time with his family on the first coast, playing the guitar and publishing.
